Abstract:
In WANG An-shi Confucian political ideal in his early years, he chose to finish HAN Yu and MENG Jiao’s unfulfilled wish. This was reflected in his Confucian scholar’s feelings elucidated in his poem, that is, to practice instructions left by the dead and prosper Confucianism. After passing the imperial exam and engaging in politics, he marched diligently and ceaselessly toward Confucian political ideal “to help the emperor become judicious (like YAO and SHUN)”. In his suggestions to the imperator in Song dynasty, he constantly stated “the idea of YAO, SHUN, and emperors in Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties” and hoped for “country’s peace”, which is just the natural logic for his Confucian scholar’s feelings of being virtuous and talented people (like JI and QI) in his early years.
