Abstract:: Social investigations of the rule of law is considered as a means of learning the reality in operation of law and construction of rule of law in society, and ensuring the scientificity of law study and effectiveness of the legal system reform. Authenticity is the basic requirement of social investigations of the rule of law, which is also a basic fulcrum to carry out law study and make legal decisions.“Main suit truth” and “objective truth” are two basic types of authenticity in social investigations of the rule of law. As for different types of research, previous preparation should be done; outline for investigation and questionnaire should be rationally designed, and research skills should be adeptly used. Only by these, the authenticity of social investigations of the rule of law can be improved. From the “untruthfulness of main suit” to “truth of main suit” in will, from “truth of main suit” in will to “truth of main suit” in ability, and then from “truth of main suit” in ability to “objective reality”, an authenticity chain of social investigations of the rule of law which gradually gains on objective reality will form.
