Foreign trade is an important force in developing a nation's economy.To accelerate the de-
velopment,it is inevitable in west China to expend foreign trade,especially on the borders.The north-
western regions will enlarge the trade with five central Asian regions,strengthen the economic and
technological cooperation with Asian regions,and further develop the rans-Europe and Asian economic
zome.The article explores the feasibility and necessity of promoting border trade via deepening reform
and opening reform and opening concerning the following three aspects:the effect on increasing income
and accumulating fund:the effect on promoting technological exchanges and creating jobs;the effect on
enlarging trade scope and improving the linkage.Furthermore,it proposes the relevant policy and theo-
ry regarding the practical choices in foreign trade.
