Abstract:
In order to explore the main implications of Rawls' difference principle, the paper ana-lyzes its freedom and rights. The analysis finds that the principle takes the distribution of labor product into account, but not the freedom and democracy of the labor process. Rawls distinguished the basic rights and took the right of means of production as a non-basic right. From the perspective of the Historical Materialism, the freedom and dignity should take root in the act of material production, but the theory lost its practical value from most basic labor production practice of human being. So, Rawls' difference theory was, in fact, not a virtual but a form justice in practice.
