周作人的美学思想与中国现代美学的民族国家和人生关怀的倾向性相谐和,他对美的论述可以“五四”新文化运动之后的20世纪20年代为中心,在写给他人的序、跋等作品中强调了文章之美,在杂文等作品中明确提出了“美的生活”,在翻译等作品中又阐释了希腊神话之美。周作人承认美文的两大传统,但对英国源流却不置重,对难懂辩护的背后体现了周作人基于新文学生态的审美构想;周作人明确提出“美的生活”的主张是在《〈语丝〉发刊词》的宣言中,与大哥鲁迅的绝交是他“生活”转向的集中呈现,周作人是在人的意义上为“生活”呼吁;希腊神话之所以美,在周作人看来,可分别从科学、艺术和道德三个角度来理解,对他而言,希腊神话之美不仅是客观属性,更是价值判断。
Abstract:
Zhou Zuoren’s aesthetic thoughts are in harmony with the inclination of nation-state and life concern in Chinese modern aesthetics. His discussion of beauty can be centered on the 1920s after the May 4th New Culture Movement. He stresses the beauty of articles in his preface and postscripts writing to others, puts forward the “beautiful life” clearly in his essays, and also explains the beauty of Greek mythology in his translation and other works. Zhou Zuoren acknowledges the two traditions of proses, but does not attach much importance to the origins of the English literature. The defense of the difficulty is a reflection of Zhou Zuoren’s aesthetic conception based on the new literary ecology. Zhou Zuoren clearly puts forward the idea of “beautiful life”in “ Introducing Yu Si”. The breakup with his elder brother Lu Xun shows his swerve of life. Zhou Zuoren calls for“life” in the sense of human.In his view, thebeauty of Greek mythologyshould be understood from the three perspectives including science, art and morality. He thinks the beauty of Greek mythology is not only an objective attribute, but also the value judgments.
