- In order to review and summarize the cuttingedge achievements of the theoretical research on journalism and communication in China in 2019, the development trend of the media industry, the application of new technology, the diversity and complexity of public opinion ecology, and the opportunities and challenges faced by the discipline of journalism and communication in this all media era, this paper studies the practical issues such as the theoretical construction of the discipline, media convergence, new media technology, professional education etc. using methods of literature review and comparative analysis based on the evolution logic of technological innovation and the complex context of social reality.The research believes that China’s journalism and communication research in 2019 shows a technologydriven development trend featured by inheritance and innovation, which is mainly manifested in the following aspects. Firsty, the review and summary of China’s 70 years of achievements and experience in the study of Chinese journalism history require the correct ideology as guide, diversified perspectives, improved research methods and broadened international horizons, which are also the trends of the study on the journalism and communication history in the digital era. Secondly, technological innovations have changed the way and pattern of traditional media’s news production, and the position of the audience has been continuously enhanced, who participates in news production together with traditional media organizations. "Users" are considered as the focus, and improving the content quality of news production has become the path of news production reconstruction and media industry transformation.Thirdly, media convergence has entered an indepth development stage, in which concept renewal is considered the premise, the toplevel design scheme is enhanced, all media matrix of coordination and connectivity between traditional and emerging media is built, and the integration of multiple elements is achieved. Fourth, public opinion shows new characteristics. The internet has become the main ground for public opinion guidance, the field of public opinion is becoming more complex and diverse, efforts are made to build the public opinion guidance of mainstream media to innovate the methods of such guidance. Fifth, the booming development of short videos has become a new growth point in China’s media industry. From grassroot culture to public dissemination, the subjects involved in the production of short videos are becoming more diversified, and news in the form of short videos has become an important form of public opinion guidance and public dissemination. Sixth, the country is strengthening the protection and institution construction of copyright, but issues in digital copyright continue to emerge, which are manifested in the immature aspects of legislation, system, technology and awareness, so using the blockchain and other technologies to solve the infringement of network copyright has become a new path. Seventh, under the guidance of technical logic, it is necessary to build a system of digital news ethics to deal with the risks in news ethics, and promote the guiding role of news norms and social values by improving the quality of news and uncovering the profound connotation of technology. The education of journalism and communication and the cultivation of talents should meet the requirements of the development of new technology. It is necessary to cast off the traditional mindset, promote the construction of the disciplinary system in journalism and communication and the journalism study with Chinese characteristics, attach importance to the education of Marxist view of journalism, cultivate professionals proficient in all media forms, focus on Chinese problems, and build the Chinese school in the discipline of journalism and communication.
