Abstract:
New media technology makes the national image communication more diversified. However, there are many problems in external communication of China’s national image. There is so much internal communication, but less external communication. The western country media’s misinterpretation and misrepresentation of our country national image is bad for us to use new media for external communication of national image. This paper analyzed the reasons. The results show that the western country media occupies the leading position of world communication market. Our country leader image isn’t good at using new media for external communication. The connection between domestic new media and foreign new media is limited to some degree. This paper also puts forward some countermeasures. The viruslike communication method of new media can be made use of to strengthen the external communication of our country’s national image. The international perspective of new media communication should be stressed to tell well China’s story to the world. Foreign media can be invited to publicize China’s image from multichannels. New media should be used more for the external communication of our country’s leader image. When big international events happen, the new media can be used to get hold of the leadership of public opinion of external communication.
