- People today should pay homage to the Chinese traditional peopleoriented thought,which has rich connotation, profound cultural deposits and unique features.In order to inherit and develop Chinese traditional peopleoriented thought, strengthen cultural confidence, and promote the construction of socialist democratic politics with Chinese characteristics, this paper mainly analyzes the rich connotation and times value of Chinese traditional peopleoriented thought from multiple perspectives through literature interpretation, comparative argumentation, theoretical analysis and other research methods, based on the cultural classics of preQin era.The study found that many important ideas and views in the Chinese traditional peopleoriented thought, such as “the people are the foundation of the country, and a consolidated foundation ensures a peaceful country”, “benefiting, giving peace to and enriching the people”, winning the people’s hearts and obeying the people’s opinions, consulting and recommending talents, as well as “discussing state affairs with the commoners” and so on, are the essence of the Chinese culture.The Chinese traditional peopleoriented thought embodies the Chinese wisdom and Chinese characteristics of the democratic ideal and practice of human beings. It is rich in nutrients of modern democracy and has timeless values. It can open a path of modern democracy through creative transformation and innovative development.In fact, the Chinese traditional peopleoriented thought has become a rich nourishment for the development of democratic politics with Chinese characteristics in modern times.The research results also show that Chinese traditional peopleoriented thought is unique in the history of human civilization.The practice of democratic politics with the characteristic focusing on the people in contemporary China, including the continuous expansion of the Party’s mass line and the constant improvement of consultative democracy, is developing into an alternative model open for choices.The essence of this model is people’s democracy, that is,people are the real masters of the country.
