- Chinese traditional aesthetic culture had undergone tremendous changes during the transitional period from Tang dynasty to Song dynasty. The aesthetes of Song dynasty reinterpreted Du Fu from a unique perspective: The virile personality spirit and poetic style of Du Fu became the aesthetic gist of the whole time; He with gloomy temperament was reshaped as an old, simple and elegant man. With the development of the times, the secular trend of Du Fu’s poetry was also further carried forward. These seemingly disharmonious sides were integrated into a whole organically, reflecting the brilliant and colorful aesthetics of Song dynasty. The multi-dimensition acceptance of Du Fu by the aesthetics of the two Song dynasties was a reasonable reinvention restricted by the times and culture.
