Abstract:: The assertion that the leadership of the party is the most essential characteristic of socialism with Chinese characteristics proposed by general secretary XI Jin-ping is not only the inheritance and development of Marxism on the characteristics of socialism, but also the scientific answer to the question why socialism with Chinese characteristics in the contemporary era can be prosperous. The paper primarily sorts out the history and logic of this assertion’s generation and development from the perspective of embryology. In a word, the inside drive to judge generation is from the theoretical reason to practical reason, namely from implicit to explicit, and the outside drive to judge development is from the parallel structure to hierarchical structure, namely from the connotation to denotation. The combination of context of theory with the real situation is the basic requirement of the criterion.
