- Abstract:
- On the basis of a large number of literature search, this paper systematically researches the construction and distribution of the post road from Chang’an to the western regions between Han dynasty and the late of Qing dynasty. The western regions is a place for assembling and exchanging of Tibet’s local culture, Central Plains Confucian culture, Indian Buddhism culture and Islam culture, and as ZHANG Qian serving as an envoy in the western regions, this post road has witnessed people of all ethnic groups migration, mutualuse of goods, transmission and borrowing of language, mutual influence of daily life, and spread of information communication. The post road from Changan to the western regions plays a very important role in China’s multinational development and integration and cultural exchanges between Chinese and western countries.
