This paper studies the different understandings and viewpoints of the rulers and men of letters at that time about the Si Ku Quan Shu, and the literature creation and reforms in the later period of LI Chao. The research reveals that the Si Ku Quan Shu has had great influence on the Korean literature. At that time, the Korean rulers, in order to safeguard their ruling positions, tried to unify the literature ideology and advocated their so-called “pure” and ancient writing style, but were completely opposed and refused by Korean men of letters.
