Abstract:
Confucianism and Christianity are two entirely different cultures. Confucianism expounds the concept of human's mind, while Christianity elaborates the belief of God's existence. Besides this obvious distinctness, there is some inner similarity between them. Through a comparative study of those two religions and the definition of the relationship between God and human being, it is found that the origins of Confucianism and Christianity are both concerned in the understanding of God and the piety to God. Confucianism understands the ultimately untouchable and non-overstepping God, so it shifts its focus from God to human's mind, and human's self-cultivation. Christianity builds a bridge between God and human being and opens the door of heaven to human being, through Jesus——the son of both God and human being. The name things of these two transformations are: human beings hand in their authority of estimation. Because of that, Confucianism insists “silence superstitious”, while Christianity tells faith.
