Abstract:
In this paper, the author analyzes the economic development, the policy of the education and the science in the Song-Yuan period, studies the reasons of Song-Yuan mathematics climax, and discovers that there are three reasons for the great progress of Song-Yuan mathematics:the first is the courts recognition and appointment of the persons with ability of mathematics, which improves the status of the scholars and the mathematics value in all the society; the second is the economic development, the commerce and handieraft prosperity, the trade increase abroad, which has great power to promote mathematics and science; the last one is the thought of“ study the phenomena of nature”, which induces a high level of mathematics study.
