- Abstract:
- In order to examine China’s modernization path from the perspective of global modernization, this paper conducts a comprehensive inspection and research on the industry convergence in the integrated development of urban and rural areas, based on the investigation on the construction of the tobacco industry complex in the west of Hubei province (southwest and northwest of Hubei), southwest Chongqing, and Guizhou (Liupanshui City, Zunyi, northeast Guizhou), etc. The research finds that China’s rural revitalization has been elevated from a "strategy" to a "path", indicating that the concept of modernization path by China through the policy of "walking on two legs" has officially taken shape, that the "rural revitalization path" is essentially the "local modernization path in rural areas", and that the key to the local modernization path in rural areas which is based on agriculture is the integrated development of industries in rural areas. The implementation of the rural revitalization path requires the adherence to the government as the "leader", rural areas as the "main venue", local modernization as the "main way", integrated development of industries as the "main business", endogenous development as the "mainstream", workforce in the Three Rural Issues as the "main subject", the equivalent development in urban and rural areas as the "main direction", and the industry convergence program in rural revitalization should be cultivated and promoted through multiple aspects including the land circulation relations, policies and regulations, cultivation of dominating industries, and construction of Sharing Economy platforms.
