- Abstract:
- In order to study the relation between Marxist philosophy and Russian society, this paper analyzed the eagerness of Russian society to innovation theory, the adaption of Marxist philosophy to Russian society, and the effors made by Marx and Engels. The results show that Russia selected Marxist philosophy in late 19th century and early 20th century under the stimulus of social realities such as Tsar autocracy hard to excape from historical disaster, various innovation incapable to stop regression, western Europe and Russian socialist theory and practice ineffective in Russia, civilian intellectuals’ cognition of inevitable revolution, and so on. Marxist philosophy can strike roots in Russia because of many factors. For example, its theory of revolution can adapt to Russian social environment, its materialism is in agreement with the materialism in Russian traditional culture, its dialectics and subjective initiative meets Russian intellectuals expectation of changing reality, its critique of capitalism conforms to some intellectuals opinions about Russia particularism, its vision of world history caters for Russian intellectuals’ desire of pursuing modernization. Moreover, Marx and Engles made great efforts for that.
