- Abstract:
- In 1890s, the reform movement emerged and gradually became active, and the bourgeois reformists set off the first high tide for the newspaper running. Influenced by this trend, many minority newspapermen also devoted themselves to the culture movement, which brought about the production and booming of the minority journalism at that time. This paper studied the ethnic minority press of prepara-tory period in the time of the Republic of China from three aspects, namely, journalistic activities of minority newspapermen, the minority press and the press published in minoritys languages. It shows that these different minority presses lay a solid foundation for the establishment of the minority journalism in the Republic of China.
