Abstract:
This paper uses case study method to analyze the receivable accounts and inventory management of publishing industry and then extracts the experience and enlightenment. The cases include Phoenix Media, South Media, Yangtze River Media and Publishing Media, which are all A share listed companies. The following conclusions are arrived: from the perspective of financial management, publishing firms should have the internal control and early warming; at the same time, they can also think about financial innovation, such as using receivable accounts or inventory as collateral to apply for a loan,using receivable accounts or inventory as underlying assets for assets securitization to accelerate fund flow; from the perspective of channel, publishing firms should integrate resources and connect publishing and distribution links, they can increase the receivable accounts turnover ratio and promote sale quotas and reduce inventory; from the perspective of business operation, publishing firms are supposed to manufacture products with better quality, try their best in searching for products’ extension value, promote digital publishing and carry out print on demand to significantly reduce the inventory pressure.
