Abstract:
Based on vegetable production and consumption data of the 1990～2010, this thesis used welfare effect model to estimate the effect of price fluctuation of vegetable on the welfare of urban residents. The results showed that: short-term and long-term welfare change of urban residents have the same trend, and they have an inverse relationship with the price fluctuations of vegetable. In short-term, ICR is the main factor to decide the change of welfare. In long-term, the change of welfare are decided by ICR, income elasticity of demand, and price of elasticity of demand. Short-term and long-term welfare changes of urban residents have the same trend, but long-term welfare effect is better than short-term welfare effect.
