Abstract:
This paper first interprets the wine production, wine types, drinking-vessel types, wine-production techniques, places for drinking wine, wine functions, disadvantages for drinking wine, and drinking rites and customs, and then analyzes the reasons for the prosperity of wine industry in Han Dyn-asty and drinking fashions at that time. The author thinks that the drink fashions in Han Dynasty were quite different from those in earlier Qin Dynasty. During that period, the rite sense in the drinking activ-ities became weaker and weaker, more and more people then pursued spiritual enjoyment, and the basic functions of wine were appreciated by people from all circles of life.
