Abstract:
Socialist harmonious society is a people-oriented society. Its essence is to promote people's comprehensive development, and freedom is the logical starting point for people's comprehensive development. Personal liberty is the core of Hayek's freedom thought, and real freedom is the core of Amartya Sen's freedom thought. This paper attempts to compare the aspects of justice, responsibility, market institution of their economic freedom thoughts. It finds their differences in philosophical basis and historical stages. The rational elements of the two thoughts can provide some enlightenment to build the present harmonious society.
